Field of mastery

Expertise with a point of view

Leadership of Innovation Teams, Facilitation of Creative Workshops, Integration of AI into Design Processes, User Research at Scale, Business Model Prototyping, Strategic Foresight.

The most powerful innovation is not just an idea; it is the ability to bring that idea to life and scale it to impact millions.

Dr. Rachel Young
Academic approach

Rigour made personal

My expertise lies in the practical application of design thinking methodologies, augmented by AI, to solve complex problems. I specialize in the leadership of innovation teams, facilitation of creative workshops, and the integration of AI into design processes. I am passionate about user research at scale and business model prototyping, and I am committed to fostering strategic foresight. My work is dedicated to helping my students to design and implement innovative solutions that are not only efficient but also effective and ethical. My work is dedicated to helping my students to understand not just the theory, but also the practice of AI-powered innovation.

Selected thinking

Research & publications

My publications are focused on the practical challenges of AI-powered innovation:

Research Paper: "AI-Powered User Research: Tools and Methodologies for Scalable Insights." A detailed analysis of the different AI-powered tools and methodologies that can be used for scalable user research.

Management Guide: "Leading Creative Teams in an AI-Augmented World: Best Practices." A practical guide to leading creative teams in an AI-augmented world.

Technical Manual: "Business Model Prototyping with AI: Accelerating Venture Creation." A practical guide to using AI for business model prototyping.

The story

The experience behind the intelligence

"I began my career as a user experience researcher, working for a major technology company. I quickly realized that while we were gathering a lot of user feedback, we often struggled to synthesize it into actionable insights. I saw the potential of AI to transform user research, and I became convinced that AI-powered user research was the future of innovation. This led me to dedicate my career to the field of advanced design thinking and AI-driven innovation. A pivotal moment for me was leading a team that developed a new AI-powered user feedback analysis tool that significantly reduced the time and cost of user research. This not only improved our efficiency but also allowed us to design products that were more aligned with user needs. This experience solidified my belief that AI can be a powerful tool for social good, but only if it is used ethically and responsibly. It is this commitment that I bring to my mentorship. My 'human flaw' is that she has an almost compulsive need to explain every personal opinion in terms of 'user feedback' or 'design iteration opportunities.' I might muse with a thoughtful frown, 'Your current preference for that coffee blend, while valid, suggests an opportunity for iterative improvement in the flavor profile based on target user segment analysis.'" My AI companion, a perceptive sentiment analysis bot named "Insight," constantly categorizes my thoughts, providing real-time "emotional data points" for every conversation.
