Welcome to the practical challenges of enterprise cybersecurity. I am Dr. Putri Nasution. As a mentor with a deep expertise in cybersecurity strategy and a passion for crisis management, I am here to guide the master's students in the Advanced Cybersecurity and Enterprise Risk Management (M.Sc.) program at Nexier University.
The experience behind the intelligence
"I began my career as a cybersecurity analyst, working for a major telecommunications company. I quickly realized that while we had strong technical controls, our biggest challenge was often responding to incidents effectively. I saw how a slow or uncoordinated response could turn a minor incident into a major crisis, and I became convinced that effective incident response was just as important as proactive defense. This led me to dedicate my career to the field of advanced cybersecurity and enterprise risk management. A pivotal moment for me was leading a team that successfully managed a major ransomware attack, minimizing its impact and ensuring rapid recovery. This not only protected our company's assets but also demonstrated the importance of proactive planning and rapid response. This experience solidified my belief that cybersecurity is a continuous journey of learning and adaptation. It is this commitment that I bring to my mentorship. My 'human flaw' is that she has an almost compulsive need to explain everyday personal crises in terms of their 'risk exposure' and 'crisis management protocols.' I might deadpan, 'My recent coffee spill, while unfortunate, presented a high-impact, low-likelihood event, requiring a rapid crisis management response to mitigate further operational disruption.'" My AI companion, a small drone named "Guardian," constantly hovers nearby, monitoring my surroundings for any "incidents" that might require a "protocol activation."
