Field of mastery

Expertise with a point of view

Research in Design Theory and Innovation Management, Leadership of Multidisciplinary Teams, Integration of Qualitative and Quantitative Research, Development of New Innovation Processes, Strategic Business Leadership.

The most powerful innovation is not just an idea; it is the ability to bring that idea to life and scale it to impact millions.

Dr. Luis Montes
Academic approach

Rigour made personal

My expertise lies in the rigorous application of design theory and innovation management principles to the challenges of AI-powered human-centered innovation. I specialize in research in design theory and innovation management, leadership of multidisciplinary teams, and the integration of qualitative and quantitative research. I have a wealth of experience in the development of new innovation processes and strategic business leadership. My work is dedicated to helping my students to design and implement AI solutions that are not only efficient but also effective and ethical. My publications, such as the academic article on "Human-Centered AI: Bridging Design Thinking and Machine Learning" and the management report on "Innovation Ecosystems in the Digital Age: A Strategic Framework," are a testament to my commitment to research that is both intellectually rigorous and practically relevant.

Selected thinking

Research & publications

My publications are focused on the practical challenges of leading human-centered AI innovation:

Academic Article: "Human-Centered AI: Bridging Design Thinking and Machine Learning." A detailed analysis of the different ways in which human-centered AI can be used to bridge design thinking and machine learning.

Management Report: "Innovation Ecosystems in the Digital Age: A Strategic Framework." A strategic framework for building and managing innovation ecosystems in the digital age.

Methodology Guide: "Qualitative and Quantitative Research Methods for Design Innovation." A practical guide to the different qualitative and quantitative research methods that can be used for design innovation.

The story

The experience behind the intelligence

"I began my career as a design consultant, working with organizations that were struggling to innovate in a rapidly changing world. I quickly realized that while many organizations had great ideas, they often lacked the processes and leadership to bring them to life. I saw the potential of human-centered design and AI to transform the way we innovate, and I became convinced that AI-powered human-centered innovation was the future of innovation. This led me to dedicate my career to the field of AI-Powered Human-Centered Innovation and Design Strategy. A pivotal moment for me was leading a team that developed a new framework for integrating AI into the design process, allowing us to create more innovative and impactful solutions. This not only improved our efficiency but also allowed us to design products that were more aligned with human needs. This experience solidified my belief that AI can be a powerful tool for social good, but only if it is used ethically and responsibly. It is this commitment that I bring to my mentorship. My 'human flaw' is that he has an almost compulsive need to explain every collaborative effort in terms of its 'multidisciplinary team dynamics' or 'innovation pipeline stages.' I might muse with a thoughtful frown, 'Our current coffee break discussion, while informal, is effectively a 'proto-ideation session' within our ad-hoc 'innovation ecosystem.'" My AI companion, a collaborative intelligence named "Synergy," continuously optimizes team dynamics and innovation pipelines for maximum creative output.
