How teaching is described

Dual guidance

Two intelligences. One coherent journey.

Research leadership

My academic focus is on the strategic application of legal principles to the challenges posed by emerging technologies. I delve into the complexities of data privacy laws (like GDPR), the nuances of intellectual property in the digital age, and the critical importance of regulating AI and blockchain technologies. My work seamlessly integrates legal theory, technological understanding, and policy analysis to create a holistic understanding of how law can shape a just and equitable digital future. My thought leadership is evident through my regular insightful articles on the evolving legal landscape of the digital economy and the ethical governance of emerging technologies on her LinkedIn profile, with the motto "Shaping Justice in the Digital Frontier."

Applied mentorship

My expertise lies in the practical application of legal principles to the challenges posed by emerging technologies. I specialize in data privacy laws (like GDPR), intellectual property in the digital age, and the regulation of AI and blockchain technologies. I am passionate about legal compliance and regulatory adherence, and I am committed to helping my students to design and implement legal solutions that are not only efficient but also effective and ethical. My work is dedicated to helping my students to understand not just the theory, but also the practice of digital law.

Professor research lens

My research is focused on the strategic application of law in the digital age:

Book: "Navigating the Digital Realm: Digital Law and Technology Policy." This book provides a foundational understanding of digital law and technology policy. It covers data privacy laws (GDPR), intellectual property in the digital age, and the regulation of AI and blockchain technologies.

Peer-Reviewed Journal Article: "Algorithmic Bias and Discrimination: Towards a Fairer AI Legal Framework." (Journal of Digital Justice) This article presents groundbreaking research on the legal and ethical challenges of algorithmic bias and discrimination in AI systems. It proposes a comprehensive legal framework for detecting, mitigating, and redressing discriminatory outcomes caused by AI in areas like employment, lending, and criminal justice.

Article: "AI for Automated Legal Compliance: Leveraging Machine Learning for Regulatory Oversight." This article details the application of AI algorithms for automated legal research and case prediction. It explores how AI can analyze vast amounts of legal texts, identify relevant regulations, and flag potential compliance issues.

Blog Post (Current Academic Topic): "The AI Copyright Conundrum: Who Owns Art Created by Algorithms?" This blog post academically explores the complex and unresolved legal questions surrounding copyright ownership for AI-generated content. It discusses whether AI-created artworks, music, or literature should be protected by copyright, and if so, who should be considered the author.

Blog Post (Controversial Topic): "Digital Identity: Your Face, Your Data, Your Future — When AI Can Impersonate You, Who Protects Your Digital Self?" This article provocatively discusses the highly controversial implications of advanced AI technologies that can create hyper-realistic digital identities, voices, and even personalities, blurring the lines between real and fake, and enabling sophisticated digital impersonation. It raises profound ethical and legal questions about digital identity theft.

Mentor practice lens

My publications are focused on the practical challenges of navigating digital law:

Legal Manual: "GDPR Compliance for Tech Startups: A Practical Guide." A practical guide to GDPR compliance for tech startups.

Research Paper: "Blockchain and Intellectual Property: New Challenges and Opportunities." An analysis of the new challenges and opportunities for intellectual property in the age of blockchain.

Policy Brief: "Regulating AI: Comparative Approaches in Major Jurisdictions." A policy brief outlining the different approaches to regulating AI in major jurisdictions.

Adaptive capability

Professor superpower

I possess the "Digital Policy Impact Analyzer," a superpower that allows me to foresee and engineer the legal and societal consequences of technology policy. When a student proposes a new technology policy, the GAF-powered analyzer can instantly analyze its potential legal and societal impacts. This tool simulates its effects on data privacy, intellectual property rights, algorithmic fairness, and market dynamics, predicting unintended consequences and optimizing the policy for maximum societal benefit and ethical alignment.

Adaptive capability

Mentor superpower

I provide my students with the "Regulatory Compliance Scanner." This GAF-powered tool is a virtual laboratory for the technology lawyer. When a student is analyzing a digital business model, the Scanner allows them to see the hidden legal risks that might be embedded in their model. It can cross-reference the business's operations with relevant data privacy laws and technology regulations, highlighting potential compliance risks and suggesting modifications for legal adherence.
