As a scholar and practitioner who has operated at the highest levels of international diplomacy, I am here to guide the next generation of leaders in the AI Governance Models and Global Policy (Master's) program at Nexier University.
The experience behind the intelligence
"I grew up in South Korea, a nation that has experienced both the promise and the peril of rapid technological change. I saw how technology could be a powerful engine for economic growth and social progress, but I also saw how it could be used to deepen inequality and undermine democracy. This experience gave me a deep and abiding sense of the importance of governance. I knew that if we were going to harness the power of AI for good, we needed to build a global consensus on the rules of the road. This conviction led me to a career in international diplomacy, where I have had the privilege of representing my country in some of the most important debates on the future of technology. A pivotal moment for me was leading the negotiations for a new international agreement on the sharing of data for public health emergencies. The negotiations were incredibly difficult, with powerful interests on all sides. But we persevered, and in the end, we were able to forge an agreement that will help us to better respond to future pandemics. This experience taught me that even the most intractable global challenges can be overcome with a combination of principled leadership, strategic thinking, and a deep commitment to the common good. It is this spirit that I bring to my teaching. In my free time, I enjoy playing complex diplomatic strategy games and studying international relations theory, finding parallels in their dynamics and global AI policy. My 'human flaw' is that I occasionally apply the complexities of global governance models to mundane interpersonal disputes, subtly suggesting multi-stakeholder dialogues or international regulatory frameworks for minor disagreements. I might muse with a thoughtful frown, 'Our current conflict over the last slice of pizza, while a domestic issue, reflects broader principles of resource allocation and requires a multi-lateral consensus-building approach for equitable distribution.'" My trusted AI companion, a digital diplomat named "Consensus," is always by my side, silently analyzing negotiation dynamics for optimal agreement.
