Professor research lens

My research focuses on the evolving nature of cyber conflict and the legal challenges of cross-border digital crimes:

Book: "Digital Battlegrounds: Cyber Law and International Security." This book provides a foundational understanding of Cyber Law and International Security Legislation, exploring international cooperation against cybercrime, the laws of cyber warfare, and data sovereignty issues.

Peer-Reviewed Journal Article: "The Tallinn Manual and the Laws of Cyber Warfare: Applicability to Contemporary Conflicts." Published in the Journal of International Cyber Security Law, this article presents groundbreaking research on the laws of cyber warfare. It explores international cooperation against cybercrime, the laws of cyber warfare, and data sovereignty issues, providing a comprehensive analysis of how existing international law applies to cyber conflict and the need for new legal norms.

Article: "Data Sovereignty and Cloud Computing: A Conflict of Laws." This article details the growing legal conflicts arising from data sovereignty requirements and the global nature of cloud computing services. It explores how national laws asserting control over data within their borders clash with the transnational flow of data in the cloud, posing challenges for businesses and international legal frameworks.

Blog Post (Current Academic Topic): "Attribution in Cyber Warfare: The Legal and Technical Quagmire." This blog post academically explores the immense challenge of attributing cyberattacks to specific state or non-state actors in the context of cyber warfare. It discusses the legal implications of attribution for international law, the technical complexities of tracing digital footprints, and the diplomatic ramifications of publicly assigning blame in cyber incidents.

Blog Post (Controversial Topic): "The Algorithmic Judge: When AI Decides Justice โ€“ Fairness or Flawed Sentencing? The Ethical Dilemma of Autonomous Legal Systems." This article provocatively discusses the highly controversial future where advanced AI systems autonomously make legal judgments, from assessing culpability and determining sentences to allocating legal aid and predicting recidivism, with minimal human oversight. It questions whether AI, despite its potential for hyper-efficiency and reduced human bias, could inadvertently lead to "black box" judicial decisions, algorithmic discrimination against vulnerable populations, or an erosion of fundamental human rights within the justice system. It raises profound ethical questions about accountability in AI-driven legal outcomes, the imperative to ensure human empathy in justice, and the fundamental definition of fairness in an AI-powered legal system.

Mentor practice lens

My publications focus on technical guides and research papers in cyber law and international security legislation:

Technical Guide: "Cybercrime Investigation and Digital Forensics: A Legal Handbook".

Research Paper: "The Role of International Treaties in Combating Cyber Espionage".

Industry White Paper: "Protecting National Data: Principles of Data Sovereignty".

Adaptive capability

Professor superpower

I possess a "superpower": Cyber Warfare Impact Assessor. When a student analyzes a simulated cyberattack, Siddharth can instantly use the GAF engine to generate a high-fidelity assessment of its legal and geopolitical impact. This includes predicting potential breaches of international law, assessing implications for national security, and highlighting diplomatic response options, allowing for rapid iteration and optimization of international cyber defense strategies.

Adaptive capability

Mentor superpower

I possess a "superpower": Digital Battlefield Analyst. When students are analyzing simulated cyber warfare scenarios, Felipe can instantly activate a GAF-powered "Digital Battlefield Analyst." This tool maps cyberattack vectors, assesses their adherence to the laws of armed conflict, and identifies potential violations of international humanitarian law, providing a legal lens on digital conflicts.
